May Tip of the Month

If you have a very busy practice and are concerned you may have an exceptionally large case list, try to delay elective cases till after the June 30 date for completion of your case list. If you are concerned you may have a smaller than average case list, consider doing the converse.

Average case list has approximately:

OB

65 listed cases plus an additional 60 unlisted cases (completely normal)

GYN

60 cases

In any situation where you have a choice of management options, consider which choice you make and why. Be prepared to defend your decision in the exam.

As you collect cases (especially on the GYN side), try to always promote a conservative approach. eg. Do you really have to treat patients with CIN I? Did you perform a hysterectomy before exhausting all conservative options of therapy?

If you find this Tip of the Month helpful, you may wish to receive our Advanced Tips of the Month. Go to our membership page to sign up.
