The 2 most common mistakes in preparing for the oral boards are not having any exposure to the oral exam environment, and insufficient preparation on the case list.

How many oral examinations have you had? The most important examination of your life is in a medium of examination about which you probably have little or no experience!

It is crucial to practice this medium of examination as much as possible.

• We have 10 years experience and feedback from past candidates. We know what is repeatedly asked in the exam. We provide a realistic and accurate mock oral exam.
• All our faculty are trained by Dr Schamroth in how to give an effective mock oral, and are equipped with a knowledge of what questions are asked in the exam.
• We encourage you to have as many mock oral exams as you can with friends and colleagues. In addition, it is certainly worthwhile to have as many mock orals as your budget will allow with professionally trained mock oral examiners.
• Other Board prep courses do not all have faculty in practice and a knowledge of the exam. Make sure you get what you need.
• We have generalists and sub-specialists in MFM, REI, GYN Onc and Uro-GYN (even Family practice and internal medicine) to give you the service you need.

• Private Mock Oral: Private mock orals provide an intense 1-on-1 individualized exposure to the oral exam environment.
• Public Mock Oral: A max of 8 participants make up a group. This mock oral lasts at least 2 hours and often longer. Every candidate gets a turn on the 'hot seat' and even when you are not on the hot seat, you are always actively involved in the session. This mock oral provides phenomenal exposure for the candidate.
• Telephone Mock Oral: This is a very commonly purchased mode of mock orals . It accomplishes everything that a private (in person) mock oral does, but saves the hassle of time and cost of transport to meet with your mock oral examiner.
• Visitor Mock Oral: The Visitor Mock Oral is the same as the Public Mock Oral, but you are a silent observer. There is no hot seat. This is very cost-effective and good practice for candidates who are not yet ready to practice in front of their colleagues.

Since we have only a limited number of time slots available and do get fully booked every year (having to turn candidates away), you are encouraged (to avoid disappointment) not to leave registration for your mock oral to the last minute. This is especially so toward the end of the year when demand is high.
